  1. Great board game cafe, located off the beaten track in a back road which had us apprehensive but it was such a hidden gem and we had a great time! We spent 2 hours (2.50 p/h) but could’ve happily spent longer. Great selection of games- we played 3 different ones, would recommend Mantis! Loud atmosphere but didn’t really bother us, food was great if a little slow to come and the service was lovely, very friendly and helpful staff! They do cafe food (toasties, soup, nachos) and snack bowls (crisps, m&ms, popcorn) which we thought was a fab idea. Would recommend and would love to come back soon.

  2. This cafe is a must go for all tabletop nerds coming to the area. With very friendly staff, delicious food and a wide range of games to play (as well as being welcome to bring your own, so long as you pay for the table) i can’t compliment this place enough. Special thank you to Chris, who was working on the day i came, for making my visit as enjoyable as it was.

  3. Spent an hour here last night and the atmosphere, pricing and food were wonderful. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable and suggested a few new games to try (one which I bought as it was helpfully by the till!)

You can see from the empty plate how much I enjoyed the pitta and hummus 😋

Thanks for the help – we will be coming back and can’t wait to try Dobble!

  4. Absolutely loved it here. Wheelchair access was great, taught my girlfriend to play risk as we got some lunch which was good. Highly reccomend it for anyone who enjoys board games. Children or adults. Easy to make a trip to get some specialist teas too.
My only criticism is that the staff were quite quiet and so was the place. I also would love to drink the specialty teas from next door while playing the board games. I’m hoping this review changes some of that.

    All in all, loved it!

  5. We spent a lovely afternoon here playing games with friends. They have a great selection of games, drinks and snacks. We didn’t try any food but everything else was great! The staff were super friendly and the games in good condition.

We’re only here for the weekend, or I’d come back for sure!
