  1. The overall experience was good.

Setting: 8/10 Would recommend to go with friends during lunch or dinner time. They have lunch menus with reasonable prices.

Authenticity: 9/10 The variety of food choices including nuns gives an authentic vibe. Chiefs are mainly Indian.

✨Highlight: Other Options may depend on personal choices, but 🍟Masala Chips (10/10) is a to have as long as one does not hate potatoes. The spice into the well-fried yet not oily potatoes was a thumbs up.

Mango Lassi (8.5/10): creamy texture with cardamom undertone, good to accompany the spice.

Hyderabadi Lamb Keema (7.5/10): the wrap is a good one for lunch, with well mixed vegetables, but the lamb was a bit dry.

Chicken Taka Tak (8/10): from the brief taste that it’s a typical chicken masala, and conventionally performed.

Express Thali and Biryani were also ordered.
Express Thali might be recommended to taste multiple types in one dish.
“Choose from Kadai Paneer or Murgh Tikka Masala with Dal Makhani, Roti, Rice, Far far, Raita and Pickle served on a traditional thali”

✨Reminder: many options may contain quite a mount of spice.

  2. This was our second visit to Cambridge and Tava Kitchen, and once again, it did not disappoint! Our first experience left a lasting impression, so we were eager to return. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and as we had booked ahead, they promptly asked for our name and seated us right away.

The service was excellent, with the waitresses being attentive and friendly throughout our meal, making the entire dining experience pleasant. The food was served in good time, and we went for the Tikka Masala, which we requested to be spicy – and it was spot on! The curry had exceptional depth of flavor, hitting all the right notes and really awakening the taste buds. The rotis were a perfect complement – light, fluffy, and served warm. We prefer them over naan as they are less filling but equally delicious.

Overall, the atmosphere was cozy, and the dining experience was consistently good. Tava Kitchen is definitely a place we will return to when visiting Cambridge again! Highly recommended.

  3. – Taste 9/10 I got Chicken Masala and butter nan and both are good; Authenticity 8.5/10 by my Indian friend; Service 6/10 A little slow and hard to call but staffs are nice, we didnt get water until we asked for it (5 mins after food came); Cleanness 10/10; Portion with the price 6/10 it is pricey with the small portion, My friend suggests that it would be good place to bring a date as it kinda pricey and dont have to eat a lot; Vibe 7.5/10 Good vibe in general but not giving India vibe, Signal is very low to none here but there is free wifi that you can ask.

  4. Was a bit of a letdown.

We went in without a reservation and were promptly given a seat and a high chair. The service was nice and quick even though the place was very busy. The ambience was quite nice.

We ordered chicken biryani, tariwala gosht, Malabar paratha and masala chai. The paratha and the gravy were excellent, but the lamb pieces in the gravy didn’t feel great. The chicken biryani was also quite average. The tea was the worst, the spices were too much and too wrong, felt like an Ayurvedic concoction.

Overall, not too bad a place if you order the right dishes. But there are better Indian eat-in and takeaway restaurants in Cambridge at a better price point.

  5. I recently had lunch at Tawa Kitchen in Cambridge, and it was fantastic! The flavours were vibrant and the customer service was outstanding—attentive and friendly. We had Chicken Biriyani, Express Thaali, some Samosas, and, of course, mango lassi! Each dish was beautifully prepared and presented. Our lunch was so impressive that we can’t wait to come back for dinner. Highly recommended!
