Great service, food and coffee. It’s such a cool gem. I am visiting from Sweden and have been to Bristol many times, but this was my first visit to Bristol Loaf. Got it recommended and decided to go for a Sunday roast. It was by far one of the best ones I have ever had! The meat was delicious and tender, the crackling was crispy and light, and the portions were very generous. The place had a lovely vibe, airy and pleasant and not stuffy as some pubs are. The staff were great – our waiter was very attentive. I warmly recommend this place!
I was looking forward to this visit, prior to seeing Calum Scott. The service was OK, attentive and quick but the food was mixed. My Korean crispy chicken burger was good but my partners Rump steak baguette was awful, fill of gristle and not cooked well and very greasy. What got me most wasn’t one of the staff asked about how the food was. It was clearly not good so I think they simply avoided asking the question. For me I would definitely not return, nor would I advise people to visit unless you wanted cakes or coffee
I visited a couple of weeks ago with my partner and we decided to sit in. I’ve been here before and other Bristol loaf outlets too. The food is good and I will say credit to the kitchen teams. I have two issues with the front of house though. Firstly, I ordered this cake and asked if it was a brioche and was told it was “like an eclair”, when it was clearly a brioche and not pastry. Secondly, the waiter doing check backs on the table was very unprofessional in regard to me whilst being weird around my partner. A really weird vibe so I shall not be returning.
One of the best roast we had in the U.K! It was that great.
Meat was tender and side vegetables were just gorgeous. We can’t wait for the next visit.
If only staff were more attentive and with it, we could have rated higher… sorry
I tried sunday roast of Bristol loaf in November last year, but was pleasantly surprised yesterday after a second attempt. I think it’s improved a lot, the beef is more tender. Yorkshire pudding tastes better, too.
