Had a delicious first meal in Scotland at the Butterfly and the Pig! I went for a Sunday Roast platter that hit all the comfort food buttons while executing each element at a high level. Ben had an enormous burger and chips. And I ended things with a very tasty elderflower blackberry fool. Wish we’d had a chance to try more drinks.
We never had food here just drinks. The staff were so nice the place was amazing inside and the best toilets I have ever seen in a pub or restaurant. The pricing was quirky with the 14 shekels and 6 pence for every item on the menu a bit too much for me. The chap that recommended we go to “Sharkeys Bar” was here, we were on an adventure of Glasgow centre so we only had the one drink. I would love to come back to see the live music.
This place is outstanding. I just looked for somewhere that offered full breakfast but stepping inside was something else. A bit like stepping back in time with a modern twist.
The House and the decor are great. So cool. So vintage. Real china, lots of wood, impressive lighting.
And then the food was great. A big pot of breakfast tea too (not one of these miserly ones you tend to get). And they had a raspberry and pistachio gluten free cake, so I had to squeeze a slice of that in as well.
The girls and boys were welcoming, friendly, helpful and real joy. Feels like a nice place to work.
My wife just asked if we were going back for breakfast tomorrow. “Hell yes” I said!
The best afternoon tea I have ever had! I was on my honeymoon, visiting from NYC, and we had the best time here. We’re coming back to Glasgow for a highland hike tour, and we are spending a full day in Glasgow solely to come back here for afternoon tea. If you’re willing to fly 6 hours to go here, I’d say it’s pretty damn good!
It’s very affordable. We have pretty garbage afternoon tea places in the city, and it’s made worse by how expensive they are.
I also loved the atmosphere, and the girl serving us. I don’t remember her name, sorry! She had a lot of nice things to say about the owners, and how she felt like they treated everyone like family. That really matters to me personally, and I think it reflects that in their food.
First time visiting. It had a really nice comfy feeling. The staff are polite. The menu is good to read if you go you’ll understand what I mean . The food was lovely and really nice . The only thing wrong is on my pudding it had coconut on and it didn’t state it on menu . And chillies on one starter. Again never stated it on menu . We will definitely visit again 👍👍👍
