Chakra Lounge is every Sheffield goers go to place for a quick Indian taste. The foods complement the spices of India with a slight fusion with British culture. Amazing range of food items. Must visit. Also don’t forget to go downstairs to find this aesthetic hideout like cafe design !!!!!
I love this place! I went based on the reviews and got the breakfast waffles and they were tasty. One thing though, I don’t think the strawberry sauce they put around the edge of the plate suits the dish. I think the waffles are sugary and this adds a nice sweetness to the dish, but more sweetness is not necessary.
Still, I would definitely come back. I got a student discount. I’m thinking of getting the desi breakfast next. It looks yummy!
Fusion Indian food.
Quirky decor.
– meant to be fusion food and by the looks of it has a wide range of fusion drink and food items
– some dishes are weirdly over the top and do not go well in fusion- example sweet waffles with maple syrup in a semi spicy dish
– drinks are refreshingly different in take
– overall a decent experience
– would benefit from some authentic Indian dishes too- not sure if that would be stepping away from what chakra restaurant stands for
The food I had at The Chakra Lounge was good. I was impressed by the assurance that loaded fries are coeliac friendly, and the service staff were great at double checking with the kitchen.
Only thing is not a lot of choice for coeliacs, hence the 4 stars not 5!
Smoothie was 10/10
Highlights:
-Amazing service – we were really well looked after
-Everything on the menu can be made vegan
-Great gluten free options
-Excellent service
-Great portion sizes for the price
-Relaxing atmosphere
-Everything is delicious!
Tried the food at Chakra Lounge for the first time today! Before today I’d only ever been to get a takeaway chai latte (their chai is so good and creamy) and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The service was excellent, really friendly staff who looked after us really well and checked on us often.
The atmosphere was super relaxing with lovely incense burning, that along with the decor makes it a gorgeous little gem in the city.
Most importantly: the food!
I had the vegan thali, with the special Tiramisu latte and finished off with almond and pistachio torte.
The thali is great value for money, as you can see in the video you get a really decent amount of food – a generous helping for one person, or could share between two and try something else off the menu alongside it.
The thali had 2 kinds of curry, chutney, rice, lovely salad, poppadoms and (loads of!) naan bread. As a vegan I rarely find naan bread at a restaurant so this was a lovely treat and the bread itself was fluffy and delicious. The almond and pistachio torte has an amazing texture and is filling! Their drinks are all amazing – my group of friends tried a few different ones and everyone really enjoyed them.
