The Cod’s Scallops – West Bridgford

1. I only go to Cod Scallops for the lunch time deal when it makes cod scallops affordable. For £10 you get Fish, Chips and mushy peas with tartar sauce and a cup of tea. They have the nicest red sauce in the world – so nice I brought some to have at home ! Staff are always great and happy 🐟🍟

2. We were disappointed with the food.

   Calamari were overcooked, haddock was incredibly greasy, lots of scrappy chips and my wife’s salad tasted horrid, a lemon dressing that tasted like washing up liquid.

   Salmon and tempura prawns we’re lovely.

   Servers were very friendly.

3. Delicious dinner, we had the cod and chips each and the fish was lovely and flakey, without being greasy and the batter was crisp. The chips were perfect, not too thin, not too thick, and the curry sauce was incredible. We found it hilarious that the battered black pudding was on the ‘light bites’ menu, but overall a great experience.

4. £1.50 for an extremely small fish “cake” that’s quality is on par with Lidls.
   Chips that although crispy, a lot are under cooked.
   Ask for salt and vinegar, don’t get any.

   For premium prices you’d expect better!

5. I went this evening around 6pm and the person serving me was so friendly and welcoming and so was the staff in the kitchen. Huge thanks to them, they was lovely.

   I requested something that was not on the menu due to dietary restrictions and they were so understanding and was able to cater to my needs.

   Lovely chips, curry sauce and kebab.

   High recommend.
