The Early Bird Bakery

1. This place was very busy and bustling which gave it a nice vibe inside! The service was also very good, with friendly and helpful staff being attentive and the food and drinks came out quickly – everything was spot on. The place does have a strange layout though, with tables cramped together making you feel a little squeezed despite massive empty floor space, a little odd.

   The hash browns were absolutely gorgeous, crispy and delicious, even if the dip they came with didn’t quite live up to this. The tumeric and ginger latte special was also divine! So creamy and so delicious, being perfectly spicy, what a drink! They made a pretty good flat white too, and the apple danish we had was beautiful. Unfortunately the teriyaki burger didn’t live up the expectations, being overly sweet with the sauce and brioche, falling apart sloppily with far too much juice and not what we had hoped.

   All in all, this is place is a good place for some grub. The drinks and pastries are great, but the food seemed to be more focused on hitting trendy flavours rather than being solid or refined dishes. We still enjoyed the meal and maybe we need to go back to try some other things as the menu sounded great!

   Lovely place serving delicious brunch/lunch and amazing pastries. Menu is small, yet very interesting and with something for everyone. Fresh and flavourful food, lovely selection of hot drinks as well. I had Turkish eggs and oat milk matcha latte. Both were lovely and would recommend them both. But the pastries…unbelievable! Definitely get one or two to go and enjoy at home!

3. Make sure to visit on a weekday to avoid queues! I can see why this place is popular, the menu is original and innovative, with plenty of vegan options.

   Huge pastries on offer that are a little pricey but good to share.

   I ordered the chicken burger and it was so filling!

   The fries and hash browns were incredibly salty!! i’m not sure if this is how they normally are or if it was an error! I couldn’t eat them sadly. Most pastries were vegetarian but only the chocolate cake was vegan.

   Staff were nice but a bit too busy and not attentive! Sofa and chairs available and a bathroom. I will be visiting again to try the rest of the menu

4. I came to early bird today for a brunch. I really liked the way of everything in here. From lovely, friendly staff to the good food. They are really amazing in even answering some questions I’ve asked about the menu. I ordered mushrooms halloumi bun which was really tasty and rich in flavour. I just gave 4 stars for the atmosphere as it’s a bit busy and noisy but I guess it’s normal to have more customers in here ♥️

5. I had the pleasure of stopping by Early Bird Bakery in Kings Heath today. For the main course, I enjoyed a Zinger chicken bun, which was amazing. My wife chose the spicy tuna toastie, and the bread was very soft and delicious. As a side dish, we had the spicy hash browns, which turned out to be fantastic. We can’t wait to go back and have them again. Just before we left, we also ordered a variety of pastries. Overall, the experience was very pleasant, and I highly recommend this place to anyone.
