We recently visited the Grand Café in Oxford, drawn by its history as the first café in England. The atmosphere was cozy, and the setting was charming. We had the lavender tea, which was wonderful, along with coffee and a scone with potted cream. The scone was particularly great. We were surprised to see that the café had a 3.4 rating on Google Reviews because it definitely deserves higher. Our experience was very pleasant, and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast there.
Their scone is wow! I like it most because they serve it warm. It tastes buttery and milky. Good ambience for academic or business discussion. No halal options but they do for vegetarians. The toilet is clean. Only that price is not that friendly 🤭, but definitely worth it 👍🏼
Stopped by for a quick breakfast – brilliant staffs who were all very attentive and welcoming. Interior decor had its down charm.
Food wise – decent options incl afternoon tea which was on the menu but have yet to try. Mocha was rich in chocolate (adore) and would recommend the Victoria sponge. Not a huge fan of the pork pie, enjoyed the tiny bit of salad it came with instead
The scones were warm and soft and delicious! I also really liked the English breakfast tea! Really cute spot for tea
Perfect place to start or winding up your Oxford trip. We have ended our trip with hot and soothing tea with scones, pastries at this caffe. Scones with jam was amazing. And the tea was so good that it recharged me for a long drive back home after walking day trip of Oxford.
