‼️ the best Sunday roast I’ve tried since starting my food page a couple years ago.
The whole meal was absolutely delicious and this is a must try restaurant. I can honestly say you will not be disappointed.
The staff were amazing too and the atmosphere there is amazing.
It’s free parking too.

First time at The Humble Onion, and it was for Father’s Day.
A hidden gem, tucked behind the Star Inn pub in Dinas Powys, it’s a renovated cow shed I believe.
Beautifully decorated, with only a handful of tables per sitting, we were welcomed by such friendly waiting staff.
The Sunday menu gives a small variety, but fear not – there’s something for everyone!
I had the asparagus starter with the featherblade beef Sunday roast for mains, my dad had the same, whereas my mum and brother chose the chicken rilette starter with the pork belly roast mains.
WOW! Hat off to the chef, the flavours were incredible. Each element on my dish was cooked to perfection, the vegetables – so fresh and prepped well with the slightest al dente bite, alongside the meat which fell apart as soon as your fork touched it, to the rich bold gravy perfect in thickness and in flavour that truly brought the dish together.
You can tell a chef by his roast potatoes. These were amazing! So fluffy inside, with the crispiest golden exterior. It hit the spot!!
Portions were great, enough to make you full, but not too much so it would go to waste.
My only criticism was the dessert menu. As much as my stomach said no more, I would have made room for a classic dessert like a crumble. I have no doubt your menu is delicious, and I understand you can’t keep everyone happy, but I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat! (A crumble might be a bit heavy as a dessert, but I bet the chef could make a cracking one!!)
Would I come again? Absolutely!
Next time, would try the Saturday menu to see what the menu has to offer!
Thank you for a fabulous Father’s Day – dad loved it!!!
Alison and the team were so attentive today we had an amazing Sunday lunch. So tasty and fresh. The food was divine, the service was impeccable and the ambience was perfect. Thanks so much. Wishing you all the best for the future. Lisa, Justin and baby Donnie. Thanks for making a fuss of our baby too! 👶
Attended after a funeral on the 26th and staff were friendly and helpful when we had to leave in a rush, packed our starters up and settled the bill with no fuss, would just like to thank the staff for being so understanding with the situation. Will be booking to come back soon
Great Sunday lunch , lovely starters and the gravy was amazing as was the whole roast dinner, all served by 2 lovely waitresses. It was a birthday celebration for my father and he had the fish and chips( best chips ever- crispy, fluffy and thick)
