We dined at The Loveable Rogue for Sunday lunch, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Despite ordering for two, the portions were the same as those given to a single diner, with the exception of an extra Yorkshire pudding, which made it feel like poor value for money. In hindsight, we were actually relieved not to receive a larger portion, as it spared us from having to eat more of the disappointing meal.
The staff were pleasant enough, but the service was somewhat lacking. We waited an inordinate amount of time, seemingly forgotten, while diners who arrived after us were promptly served their meals. It gave the impression we were an afterthought.
As for the food, it was a tremendous letdown. The potatoes were hard, completely devoid of seasoning, and tasted like they came straight from a frozen packet. The roast itself was tough and flavorless, leaving us quite disappointed, especially after spending over £100. Quite simply, it didn’t come close to the expectations set by the reviews or the photographs.
The one redeeming feature of the meal was the red wine gravy, which was absolutely delicious. In fact, it was so good that I had to smother the entire meal in it just to make it somewhat palatable.
In short, this visit was terribly underwhelming, and I regret to say we won’t be returning.
Amazing food and great service. Worth every penny! The flavor is very delicate down to every ingredient combined.
Portion size allows to try different things. Cocktails were great too.
Wanted to try this place for ages!! And it did not disappoint. Hands down the best sunday roast ive ever had. The mac n cheese is a great touch! Service was amazing. Lovely people, great atmosphere and fantastic food. The cocktails were class! In today’s market you definitely get what you pay for. Plenty of food for two people.
After reading all the amazing reviews, this was next on my list to try and it exceeded expectations 👌an upmarket gastro pub in the westend with a classy yet subtle Scottish theme decor. Gary who I am not sure if was the manager or not, was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being too much. We all loved our choices, my brother had the haggis balls to start followed by the fish and chips ( this was served with a curried pea dish, however my brother asked if he could have tarter sauce, chef made there and then) lovely touch. I had the cheese churros with a sweet honey dipping sauce so tasty, followed by the massive burger with chips cooked to perfection 👌. My uncle loved his hummous plenty of it, followed by the pork ( he did feel this was a little too fatty) loved all the same, he ended his lunch with cheese cake an infusion taste that we all tried. Portion sizes where perfection, lovely atmosphere, staff, decent prices, choice and right beside the underground. Check it out 😀
We had an excellent Sunday Roast today, the staff are all very polite, prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely.
The Roast the best part, was excellent, soooo tasty and well worth the money, the cocktails looked great too unfortunately I didn’t get to try as I was driving.
Highly recommend 👌
