1. Went there with my fiancée for our anniversary, food, staff and atmosphere were amazing, definitely coming back at some point 👍👍

2. Thought it was a pub with bar snacks. It’s a restaurant ! Fantastic menu. Vegan and Vegetarian catered for. Seasonal foods. Service was excellent. Will come again !

   How fabulous to stumble across a great restaurant by accident.

3. We called here on our way home from a trip to Emerald park. We called to book and the lady on the phone was lovely and very cordial. When we arrived we were promptly seated and our welcome was very nice indeed. We were a party of 9, 4 adults and 5 kids. The food was delicious and the service was exemplary, with the lady serving us sorting the kids first, to ensure that they were entertained allowing the adults to enjoy meals when they arrived. All in all a great dining experience. Highly recommended. Thanks.

4. Edit April 2024:
   There has been a menu update which includes some new vegan options, including a few desserts!
   We had the Hot and Spicy Quorn wings to start which were really tasty. The ‘blue cheese’ sauce was fantastic.
   Then we tried the Smoked Seasame Tofu steak sandwich with peppercorn sauce. The flavour was impressive and I have never seen this attempted before! It really is a smart idea, I think I enjoyed this more than any of the ‘fake meat steaks’ I have tried in the past.
   We also had the braised jackfruit and walnut ragu. This was rich and delicious, exactly what you expect and want from a pasta dish.
   To finish we had the chocolate fudge cake and cherry tart, both of which were lovely and plated up very aesthetically.
   Overall the food was amazing as per usual but the service this time was absolutely brilliant so I have to update my previous review. I will be back soon 😊

   The Oliver has one of the most ambitious menus in Newry. The chef has taken some of the standard meals and put a refreshing twist on them, which is fantastic. Furthermore, there is a good selection of different vegan starters and mains, definitely the leading choice in Newry as I write this review.
   I ordered the vegan Asian style Burger which was delicious. I do enjoy a beyond burger but I like the idea of using a battered mushroom. Nice to have a meal which isn’t focused around processed fake meats for a change. The sauce and trimmings on the burger are fantastic, overall can’t fault a thing.
   I also tried their vegan penne which unfortunately was quite bland. Its description oversells it and really it is penne with some passata and vegetables. I have tried this multiple times and have been disappointed. Would love to see this meal uplifted to the high standard the rest of this menu sets.
   The decor and vibe in the restaurant is perfect, modern but still keeps reference to its Newry roots. Unfortunately I can’t comment positively on the service. The staff are very friendly but even with a low number of customers there is not enough attention and you find yourself looking to see where the waiters are. Even when they were attending us they made mistakes, either getting the order slightly wrong or totally forgetting them entirely. I write this not to be critical but rather to encourage improvements in a few areas. This is one of my favourite restaurants in Newry so I really want to see it flourish. Overall I would recommend coming in to try the inventive menu and cocktails all at a reasonable price, hope to be back soon 😊

5. Great place! Delicious food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. All you can ask for. Definitely will be back.
