  1. What a gem of a place. We enjoyed a delicious lunch with the chicken and rump steak cooked to perfection. The chips were the best we’ve had for a long time and the walnut salad was refreshing. We enjoyed cocktails and their house red, all in a delightful atmosphere with warm and friendly service. Tucked down a side, a great location only minutes away from the station and bustle of Oxford streets. A must to visit.

  2. A very nicely decorated restaurant.
1 thing I’d suggest to those who are going that are interested in any of the larger cuts of meat is to not go in hungry because they can take over 40mins to cook or maybe if you know what you’d like ask if you can purchase it and they can have it pretty much ready for when you arrive.
Other than that there are other smaller dishes that can be cooked very nicely. They also do great coffee I’d say it’s been the best coffee I’ve had in Oxford.

  3. Rooms are walkup from the lobby restaurant. They are large but not well lit. Bathroom is modern with a rain shower and a handheld. The staff is friendly and efficient. The location is further from the heart of the city where most colleges and museums are located (about one mile) but easily walkable from the train station. In-house steak restaurant but on expensive side but steak selection is good and there are a few alternative mains available. Breakfast is great with a cold bar including cereal and yogurt. Special feature is that one additional set menu entree from the cooked menu is included in the breakfast price and can be included in room price.

  4. Delicious steaks, excellent chips, nice sauces. Very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Beware of the two armchairs by the fireplace though. They’re so comfortable that you won’t be getting out of them any time soon.

A bit on the pricey side, but worth it, considering the quality.

  5. We stayed there for two nights in early June. The hotel is what you would expect from a traditional boutique hotel in Oxford and more. The rooms are spacious clean with a nice atmosphere. The bathroom was a nice surprise which was very modern and quite big. The hotel offers a selection of breakfast dishes with the bonus being the amazing steak house in the ground floor. Make sure you reserve in advance and don’t forget to try something from the wine list. Location wise the hotel is a 7-8 min walk from the bus station in a nice quiet area. I found quite funny how the stairs are not level at the top floor. I loved it! Extra nice staff, very thorough in every way.
