The Rose & Crown

1. The Rose & Crown is a traditional multi roomed pub. It has an unspoiled original interior with ceramic tiled walls and a tiled floor. There is a wide range of draft beers, including some hand-pulled cask conditioned real ales, which were in excellent condition when we visited. The staff are very friendly and welcoming the pub also serves food and offers accommodation. There is a nice beer garden and a car park behind the pub.

2. We called in for our and chips after running in the York marathon. A friendly welcoming pub, with excellent service. The food was exceptional. Granted we were hungry but it was one of the best pies I have had, the chips were amazing, like mini roasties. Well done Rose and Crown

3. We decided to come here for our dinner, going on their traditional Sunday roast choices. We certainly were not disappointed. Best meal we have had here in York. Lovely Yorkshire pudding, roast tatties and veg accomplished with in mind roast chicken. My hubby had the roast beef. Both our meats were succulent, perfectly cooked and generous. We both also had cauliflower cheese with the cauliflower cooked too perfection.
   It takes me back to my Sunday dinners my Mum made as a child.
   If you want a good ‘scran’ have it here!!!

4. From start to finish this was a fantastic experience.
   I booked a table for an evening meal, and arrived a little bit early.
   The staff were amazing, helpful, polite and friendly.
   Fabulous food menu, I didn’t know what to choose, which I feel is always a good sign.
   Location in York is excellent, with the City Walls, the Barbican and Clifford’s Tower within easy distance.
   I would very much recommend this pub if you want classic food yet not too far from York City Centre.
   Nice decor and tasty food.
   Well done all!

5. Highly recommend this place. The staff are awesome. The food is amazing and value for money. If you like real cask ale they have a lovely selection.
   We booked as going to the Barbican York. However it’s not to long a walk into town. The wall is at the end of the road.
   It’s a pub with rooms, clean and everything you need at hand or on request they will help you. Next time we are in York it will be here we stay. Thank you Simon and all the staff
