Use this place quite often for coffee and cake or dining. Very good. Cannot comment on the rooms as we live nearby and have never stayed there but would assume they are of the same high standard as the rest of the venue.
We stayed at The Upper House for our 20th wedding anniversary and really, really enjoyed the experience. The Bridgwater Room felt just right – a lovely view, comfortable and cosy bed, a modern bathroom and all in-keeping with the style of the house. The service was excellent – polite, attentive and helpful whilst being relaxed. The food (we had a sandwich lunch and a breakfast) was fresh and tasty. The location is splendid and close to the town and has some beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Highly recommended!
When myself & fiance were looking for our wedding venue we fell in love with the upper house, its a great setting, surrounded in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens, hotel rooms so family & friends were able to stay over night. Myself & my fiance knew this was the right venue for our special day.
We would firstly like to thank Ellie Pointon, superb support with arranging our wedding plans for our special day, very obliging & professional.
Secondly the staff were very polite, helpful & waitress service during our wedding breakfast through to the end of the evening was excellent, delicious meal compliments to the chef.
Thirdly, everyone who was involved making sure everything ran smoothly for us deserves the biggest pat on the back, you are all truly amazing. Big massive THANK YOU. Xx

I visited this Hotel last night with my wife and daughters, and we all absolutely loved The Upper House. Our family room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and a good shower. Food in the restaurant was simply outstanding, especially the provisioning for celiac / gluten free guests who have a wide array of options and gf bread available. The local Severn Valley wine is delicious. Breakfast was included with our room rate and was one of the best I’ve had. Fantastic ingredients with great continental options. The grounds are immaculate and plentiful, with spectacular views over the sounding countryside. The building itself full of character. There is electric vehicle charging available at the hotel for a reasonable fee. The staff were all lovely and we were made to feel most welcome. We will definitely return to this hotel when next in the area and wish it was closer to home! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ate here with friends, lovely building and grounds.
My wife’s lamb moussaka was tasteless. My chicken breast in sauce was Ok, but as in these kinds of surroundings the quantity of food is not adequate enough for me.
Would we try it again, probably as the service and surroundings are good.
