Brilliant carvery for the whole family. Home made and freshly cooked. Would definitely recommend booking in advance as it gets busy. Puddings offered at £4.50.
Called in to The Welsh Black Inn on a Monday and spoke with a lovely Thai lady to book a table for 2 with a dog for the Wednesday night. All booked in with no issues. We arrived on the Wednesday for the meal only to be ushered out of the reception into the bar by an extremely gruff, self important Welsh male and told no dogs allowed. While trying to explain we had a booking for 2 adults and a dog, I was rudely cut off and told to leave. Prity sure he was just a customer running the bingo night. Such rudeness is not worth my time so we left. On the way out we passed our reserved table? Despite dog friendly signs up and selling dog ice-cream I got the impression that it was just this particular male that has the issue. I wouldn’t bother if you have a dog. Despite the response from the ‘owner’ this does not validate the gruffness and rudeness experienced. A reservation was made, with the knowledge of a dog being in attendance, this reservation was not honoured. Very poor customer service.
We had our first experience of Sunday roast today (01/09/24) and it definitely wont be our last. Both the meat and nut roast options were spot on, all the trimmings are vegetarian friendly too. Service came with a smile, we both felt very welcome. A ten minute drive from Clarach Bay so ideal for us. When we are down this way again we will back..!!
Popped in for a pint and some food- both were fantastic. Try to arrive before 8pm as kitchen closes at 8:30. If you’re lucky you’ll get there for a bingo or pub trivia night. Owners are lovely.
Stayed for a weekend, cheap rates, room good and has what you need, tea n coffee, TV, en suite, clean, Thai restaurant underneath for dinner, reasonably priced with good choice, car park behind, no breakfast but there are places locally you can go to, handy for Aberystwyth town and the beaches nearby
