Overall, I had a pretty decent experience when I visited here for the first time a few days ago. The only things that could be improved are the service and the price. Hooooly are they expensive for how much food you get. I will say though that the food tasted way better than it looked. If it were a few dollars cheaper, I’d get that carrot cake again for sure 👌 The rattlesnake pasta had a mild level of venom, but nothing that put me in a coma. Could use a little more heat 🔥 Maybe twice or three times. I like it when I’m blowing fire from both directions. Please make me cry! 👍😂
I ordered Detroit Pizza Works via Uber Eats, but it’s not found on Google. What is at their address is UNO, so if this is wrong I’ll change my review.
I am from North Carolina here for the week visiting family in Dexter. I am a huge fan of Jet’s Pizza in my state as it’s the only Detroit style pizza there. I was turned onto the style from co-workers and having such bad pizza in Dexter, I thought I give another Detroit style a try since I am so limited in the south. I thought the overall pizza was very good. It tasted great. Just a bit undercooked for my liking. But, that could be the style here. I like a more darker undercarriage. Overall, I enjoyed it and this style is surely for me with the square 4-corner pizza that is thick and full of flavor.
Terribly disappointed. My wife and I each ordered our own different Detroit style pizzas. I swear they were both the exact same pizza and shouldn’t have been and none of the toppings went into the corners. In addition these things are such thick bread that the inside was still raw dough. I ordered a tall beer and the waitress brought me a short and left. When she came back to the table again I asked her about it and she said, oh we were out of the tall glasses so I just gave you a short. I thought that was a little rude that she didn’t explain that to me when she brought it. When I ordered my second beer I told her I wanted a short and instead she brought me a tall. Is it opposites night? Overall, we won’t be going back there. We’ve eaten detroit-style Pizza in Detroit so one of their employees might want to go up there and see how it’s really done because this wasn’t it. And we’ve eaten at an Uno’s in Ohio and I was looking forward to their Seafood Pizza which this location did not have. (Our friends had something other than pizza so theirs wasn’t as bad but they still felt the whole experience was such that it’s not worth going back again).
Fresh food, good flavor and service was good even when busy. The Chicken R&B pizza we ordered as a deep dish and although I prefer a thinner crust, it was full of flavor. It was nice they put the ice cream on the side of the dessert cookie for allergies. Very authentic, good atmosphere pizzeria! Recommend the cheesy garlic bread!
Last time we ate here, the food was to die for. Today, sadly, that was not the case. Ordered the Triple B Burger, and as I always do, I get it medium rare. When the Burger came out, it looked good, but I took one bite out of it it was cold and still raw. Now our waitress took it off the bill, so there is no complaint there. My son ordered a pizza and it was so greasy, but he can tolerate that. Overall, a very poor food experience today. And I understand people have bad days. Our waitress did a great job (thanks Lynsie) but sadly, it will be while before I can eat there again.
