  1. Wonderful little coffee shop below Penhaligons. What it lacks in size it makes up for in atmosphere with small tables nestled next to one-another. The flat white was as I like it with silky textured milk and rounded extraction, not too bitter or sour. Beans were on the robust side but not dark. Pastries were fresh with the Pain aux Chocolate rich and luxurious. Been back multiple times and always consistently good.

  2. We came at around 9am and the small coffee shop was quite full.

We managed to snag a table right after we ordered (1 latte, 1 flat white and a scone with clotted cream). The coffee was pretty good. It was smooth and a little fruity. The foam was really good. The scone with clotted cream was really big. You could share it between 2 people. The scone didn’t taste like baking powder which was good. It wasn’t dry or anything. The jam and clotted cream went perfectly well with the scone. Would definitely recommend getting the scone with clotted cream

  3. The café is small but very charming. It has wonderful pastries and excellent coffee. I ordered a cortado and enjoyed every sip, and the price was reasonable. Prices here are affordable, whereas coffee is very expensive in my country.

  4. This was a wonderful little cafe, conveniently located in New Town. We sort of stumbled upon this little cafe on our first walk through Edinburgh, and we were delightfully surprised by the quality of the drinks and service.

  5. I don’t make it to Edinburgh very often, maybe 3 times in 40 years, but my first stop is Wellington for the best Flat White you can find north of the border. Scone was mighty fine too, even if I was offered cream and jam with a fruit scone – heaven forbid. Butter, please.
