  1. We came here after walking by HMY Britannia to check out this cafe by the port. It has a laidback vibe with lots of outdoor seating perfect for a slow sip and enjoyment. Unfortunately its decaf flat white didn’t live up to its rating. And certainly didn’t have any of the Rwanda notes I was expecting. Disappointed.

  2. I really love this place, so calming and comfy. Their coffee is a bit strong hence I recommend to try their decaf. They also have a mini art display inside. You can also take your coffee outside and enjoy the beautiful harbour.

  3. Lovely place by the port. A little hidden gem I would say. The entry is a bit harder to find, but it is worth it. Amazing sweet or salty snacks and good coffee. The service was kind and helpful. They even have outdoor seating with a cover for rainy days.

  4. Used to be a proper little local gem – and I still think the coffee is possibly the best in Edinburgh. However the attitude of the baristas has really tanked lately. I stood at the till the other day with someone making coffees and whatnot in front of me (totally fine – happy to wait I know how busy it gets) but absolutely no acknowledgement that I was even there – for a good 5 minutes before I walked out.

Just because it’s cool little coffee spot doesn’t mean staff are exempt from basic manners.

  5. I’ve been a regular for years, and while your coffee and pastries are excellent, this will be my last visit due to the consistently cold and detached service. It feels like a real barrier to connection, and many of us come not just for coffee, but to feel welcomed and valued. Are there any plans to improve the service experience so it matches the quality of the product? How do you select staff—do you prioritize warmth and attitude, or is the current detached vibe intentional? Unfortunately, this lack of warmth has led to my decision not to return.
