Wilma’s Patio Restaurant

1. 4.2/5 stars. It is hard to beat the setting offered by Wilma’s. The decor is inviting and on theme with beautiful Balboa Island. Staff are super friendly and food was delivered quickly and hot. We ordered eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros. Wish the food were a match for the setting, but that wasn’t the case. On par with most beach food.

2. Wilma’s Patio is a nice restaurant on Balboa Island. There restaurant is spacious and has plenty of seats. The menu has food items for different palates. You will find something to satisfy your cravings.
   I got the fried zucchini sticks for my appetizer, which was delish!!! The house ranch was yummy. I always appreciate homemade ranch. I got the prime rib dip with house fries (the best fries), and my husband got the Reuben sandwich. Nice portion and, and everything tasted delicious.

3. This is by far the best place to go if you want life to slow down a bit and you can enjoy great atmosphere and even better food. I got the fish and chips which were by far the best fish and chips I’ve had in many many years. The fish had great flavor and was perfectly cooked and the breading was crispy. The fish was so good I had asked for malt vinegar initially which is how I usually eat fish but the flavor was so good I forgot i had asked for vinegar in the first place. The chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside just as one would expect a perfect “chip” to be. Now for the ceviche again as a lover of seafood and well traveled I can say the ceviche was astounding the lime juice and the flavor of the fish came through great and were not overpowering and when complemented by the tomatoes, cilantro and onion it elevated the dish to a whole other plane of flavor. As for the service the entire staff was very accommodating and ensured that the atmosphere was professional and welcoming and I was not rushed out as soon as the bill came unlike many other establishments. All that to say this, this place is a must try and I and my family and friends will absolutely be returning hands down!

4. When we arrived there was an approximate wait of 20 minutes. That didn’t matter at all because there are plenty of things to see and do while waiting. The place is perfectly nestled near the corner and on a very well foot traffic location. We were taken to our table and immediately just walking in we realized that the environment and atmosphere were perfect for a brunch with friends. We ordered our food and it was not long at all that the food came out hot and in no time at all. There was really good portions for the price. The staff was very attentive and always checking on us making sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a very quaint place to visit and have some really good hometown food.

5. Come with me to this local favorite dining spot in Balboa Island for more than 35 years. Casually cozy and comfortable.

   I had:
   1. Fresh blueberry pancake – pancakes with syrup, two eggs, bacon, ham
   2. Chips & salsa
   3. Crock of french onion soup
   4. New England clam chowder
   5. Fish & chips
   6. Old school club
   7. Hot chocolate – perfect on a cold day!

   Amazing and warm service, really makes my visit lovely.
