  1. We found this place among the Michelin Guide restaurants in Belfast. We had good expectations, although they were not very high and we were also excited that one of us was a pescatarian and the name of the restaurant was Love Fish. First of all, there was a mistake in the dishes we ordered. Although we stated that one of us was a pescatarian when making the reservation, we were not asked whether we had any sensitivities or not, after we arrived and sat down, and there was meat in the meal, but then they changed the meal without taking any payment. The meals we experienced were delicious and it would be fair to say that it was a considerable experience. Also, we saw a sufficient number of menu options for vegetarians and pescatarians. The service was quite adequate except for the initial mistake, the drink we ordered was constantly renewed and we did not experience any service problems. About atmosphere, we can say that the place where we were sitting was good compared to others (middle section), when we took a quick look at the other sections, we observed a slightly noisy environment in rest.

In general, we agreed that it is a nice place in terms of price and performance.

  2. My wife and I were abruptly stopped by a snobby French man who told us that he didn’t have a table for us despite the restaurant being half empty.
When we looked up reservations online, we saw that tables were available for booking.
We are tourists and may not have been dressed business casual, but can well afford any meal in any restaurant.
I suspect that this snobby little man did not like our dress.
I’d suggest that you spend your money elsewhere.

  3. The lady who welcomed us at the beginning was very nice, and helpful with suggesting options from menu.
Food was decent enough; had scallop risotto and monkfish curry.. only realised after the bill came out that the risotto comes in two portion sizes and we were served the large portion without being asked! Portion size was huge for me so would’ve happily gone for the smaller size if I’d been given the option!
    Mocktails were great, very tasty..
We were sat by the bar and the noise of broken bottles that been thrown away every other minute was very disturbing!

  4. Calling in to Deanes Love Fish in Belfast, to try out the new lunchtime menu, was a delightful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Perched at a window seat to watch the world go by, the informal but stylish dining space is fresh and bright with hints of the seaside in the decor, perfectly mirroring the menu which champions the finest of local seafood and shellfish.

We started with a carafe of zingy Chez Deaneo Sauvignon Blanc, crisp, fruity, and perfect to pair with fish.

The snack of Crispy whitebait with curried mayo, and the Crab on Toast starter with celeriac, confit onion, and Granny Smith apple were both excellent appetisers.

To follow, the generously portioned Fish Pie was crammed with local seafood, topped with a cheddar glazed mash, and served with buttered greens, and the dish of Scampi, arranged beautifully on the plate, was accompanied by chips, tartar sauce, house salad and a spritz of lemon.

Deanes Love Fish; excellent quality, an affordable menu, gorgeous presentation, and delicious dishes.
