High Street Tavern

1. After visiting this place 6 times I originally left a 5 star review. However after today’s experience I will not be returning. We ordered 5 main meals and 4 drinks from the menu. Half way through my meal I asked for some more hot water in my pot of tea. This request was refused as they “don’t do refills” which I find incredibly frugal. Considering we are spending £90 asking for some hot water is not asking for much! I have asked for several years in different cafes and restaurants for pot of tea refills and have NEVER been refused until this place. They clearly don’t have customer service as their top priority. Also the older guy working there is miserable and rude. So I won’t be coming back. I will say though the two ladies working there are super lovely. The food is nice and arrives quickly. The place is really clean and they have a good menu. But because they are so cheap they won’t even give you water I won’t be going back or recommending this place.

   Love this place. It has half price food all day Monday and Tuesday. Nice staff, lots of seats, games available to play. Never had an issue with the food or drinks here. Would recommend

2. Recently renamed Croft NQ according to Jorvic..new owners autumn 2024? No real ale but a good pint of Guinness. Quiet on our visit. Some mums plus babies enjoying a brunch. Pleasant one room cafe bar.

3. 5 stars for the fact that the price was so reasonable, Service was great, huge portion and decent enough. We would have preferred the beef to be served pink as it was well done however that’s personal taste.

4. I can tell this is the best place I’ve ever eaten in the whole UK. It’s only my second time in High Street Tavern, as I am from Spain and I only come to Manchester for holidays, but this place became definitely my go to for nice food and with great prices. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone and look forward to come more often and share this with friends and colleagues. Staff and atmosphere also very kind and nice! Love it!

5. Absolutely top notch pub on a Saturday afternoon, but I’m biased because I had just been to no less than six breakfast/brunch spots with insane lines/waits and no luck. All I wanted was a full English breakfast and I discovered this lovely place (make sure you order before noon for breakfast). Not one of those trendy breakfast spots so there was plenty of seating, friendly staff, and great draft beer. TT Hopical Storm was delicious. Breakfast was stellar. Really enjoyed this experience, wish I knew to come straight here at 10am instead of wasting nearly two hours.
