M&S cafe

1. Decided to go here for breakfast just for fun with husband and friend then got worried by the reviews I read. People said the breakfast looked nothing like the picture but actually it wasn’t far off. I had the vegetarian option which was delicious and liked the chilli in the smashed avocado. Husband had the meat option which he said was also delicious. He was paying and said it was worth the money. We all had coffees which were also good. Staff were friendly. Another review complained about someone only cleaning the middle of the tables. I watched someone clean right to the corners so you don’t need to worry about that. Sat next to the windows overlooking St. Peter’s garden which was nice. You didn’t feel like you were sat next to the underwear department in a store at all.

2. Went to this cafe around 1.30pm on a weekday with my mother. Found the cafe to be in disarray, 50% of tables vacant with old trays left out. Our table was actually dirty with spillages not cleaned away.
   There were 3 staff in the main area not doing a great deal and 2 staff at the coffee area with quite a strange rude attitude.
   Tea and coffee just standard, cake selection poor as was the quality.
   Terrible.

3. Every time I come here something is out of stock. Nice staff. But the menu gets cut down and they can’t even produce the 18 items left. How do you run out of avocado when you have a supermarket downstairs ?

4. place to go with ur mum or ur grandma, i like it tho, classic british food, hits every time, just such a classic place, only good if you have memories here. I wouldn’t go out of my way to be here if i’m new to M&S.

5. For the second time in a row, the food I wanted (eggs Royale) was ‘not available’. A disappointment again. Last time there was only white bread. So, for the second time, I just had coffee.
