Piero’s Snack Bar

1. Had the most beautiful breakfast which set me up for a day of exploring the sights of Leicester.

   If you fancy an alternative to your English breakfast, then head to Pieros and order the Marrakesh Breakfast.
   For under £10 you get a ramakin of Mudamas (which is like warm hummus) another of baked Eggs topped with salsa and olives, plain and filled tortillas with cheese and a pot of traditional mint tea. This vegetarian dish delights the taste buds and is very filling!

   Breakfast was made to order so expect a bit of a wait while it’s being lovingly prepared – it’ll be well worth it.

   I didn’t try anything else but will be going back to try the Casablanca breakfast very soon.

2. I went there for a little coffee break, so can’t comment on the core aspect of the place which seems to be food rather than coffee.

   Everything is on point except the latte which was just a tad bit off point. I wish they would make a cute latte art but that didn’t matter much. What matters was the coffee was too diluted to my taste. I know this is not a coffee shop, and it wasn’t fair to be fussy about this, but still…if you want decent coffee, this is not the place. The pistachio cheesecake was bland, but on the bright side, you consumed less calories right?

   The rest was fantastic! The service was efficient, warm, polite, and sunny! The place itself is charming with its vintage decor. Pretty spiral staircase but don’t climb it! Plenty of seats and the bathroom is at the back.

3. I came in today to have a full English breakfast and I was really disappointed in the cheap ingredients.
   The sausages were tasteless weren’t meat. Definitely vegan stuff. The bacon or turkey not sure what it was was dry and hard. The beans were basic 50p beans, two tasteless tomatoes, mushrooms definitely from a can as well. Absolutely nothing was seasoned, so technically I paid about £10 for a breakfast I would have had for £3 at home. Other than the food, staff seems to really dislike their job, I felt scared to ask questions lol, no smile, no positive attitude, you feel like you are bothering them. There was no welcome as well and no staff came to us during to ask how the food was and if we needed anything else. I in fact was so thirsty waiting for staff to come even just near me so I could ask for water but nobody ever came. I had to go all the way to the counter. Anyways.. a lot needs to be done to sort this out. It’s clean though at least

4. If I could give this a 0 I would. The plate felt so empty, the quantity of food was so not worth for the price. The taste was really blan nothing much whats so ever, lack of seasoning and presentation. Really disappointing, I could easily make triple the quantity with what I paid at home. Never coming back.

5. Visited in November 2023. Very lovely cafe and friendly staff. The food was delicious. We had English breakfast and two Moroccan breakfast.
