Shipwrights Hotel & Riverside Pub

1. Off the beaten track. Surrounding area in the summer would be lovely. Pub itself quaint & charming old english pub. Very reasonably priced 2 x mains 2 x pudding all for just over £42 which was very good for this. Not the best food I’ve eaten but then again not the worst I’ve eaten either. Just regular pub grub. Would I return probably not but glad I tried. A little out my way. If you are in area.

3. I took two of my friends to the shipwrights with my husband . The food has always been too knotch at this restaurant .I was quite surprised to get a downstairs table only booking last Friday . We all had Sunday Roast I ordered gammon crispy. Very disappointed to get sliced ham ,m.i love aldente vegetables but my carrots were raw the cabbage was overcooked . The swedeand potato were that soft they ran into each other however the gravy and Yorkshire pudding was lovely .

4. Been coming here for the last 15 years and this was the worst meal I have had! Three of us ate, had 2 mixed grills and a chicken Kiev. The mixed grills were £17.95 and I’ve had better from a sizzler, steak was small and chewy, gammon was under cooked and full of fat and the sausages were the cheapest crap I’ve seen served. The place was famous for their Kiev, still looked nice but was tasteless. The kids chicken nuggets and fries were decent but honestly I won’t be going back!

5. Love this place but disappointed in the food yesterday. The chips they are famed for were dry & colder than the rest of the food as though they had been triple cooked then gone cold then triple cooked again. It won’t stop me coming here because everyone can have an off day but I write reviews when I have a great experience so vice versa….
