#Saracens
There’s nothing wrong with this pub. Food was good pub food. Good selection of beers. Toilets were a bit dated and the toilet itself was broken. But that wasn’t an issue. I’d suggest this pub to my family and friends to go get good value for money food and drink.
Visited for the first time earlier this week on the ‘Burger and a drink deal’. I think it was £12.95 for any burger on the menu plus a drink. Portion sizes massive (we couldn’t finish our meals)! Prices very reasonable. Food cooked to perfection. Would recommend for a nice ‘pub dinner’. My only comment would be that the staff were dressed very casually and there was a casual vibe to the place on a Tuesday evening – if this is the aim then that’s perfect but I think the decor and quality of the food suggest a slightly more upmarket vibe. I do think once they have more staff etc that table service would be nice instead of having to order at the bar.
A massive thank you to Emma, Paul and all the staff for making our Retirement Party so special last night (20th July 24) The food was fantastic (Paul’s curry tasted amazing). The atmosphere was great and Emma, Paul and all the. staff couldn’t do enough for us to make our night perfect. We would 100% recommend holding that special party at the Saracens Head you won’t be disappointed.
I have enjoyed going here in the past when it was a steakhouse however the last visit was disappointing. Twice the waitress returned to the table to inform us of a choice not being available. (Quite a while after ordering) First time no chicken for the hunters chicken and then after a 25 min wait another visit to tell us no blue cheese for the burger. (Which then later also come with no black pudding either and a rock hard bun) so in theory just a rock solid plain burger….
The food was average at best and every plate piping hot on arrival to the touch so I imagine it was either sat for a long time on a hot plate or blasted in a microwave before serving. It’s sad to see these issues so soon after a reopening. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll risk returning as this was a night where there were only 3 tables in service so wouldn’t risk a busy day.
The waitress who served us was lovely and apologised and did take the burger off the bill however the night was very flat after people either couldn’t have what they ordered and didn’t get what they ordered.
On a positive note, the pizzas I saw other people have did look very good.
Called in for tea. Few people outside eating and drinking in the sunshine.
Lounge looked lovely. Nicely decorated.
Not many in the lounge eating but the bar seemed quite busy. Only 6pm.
Food and drink ordered at the bar. Staff very pleasant. Nice pint too.
Food was lovely. Salad with the Lasagne very well presented.
